Local Tax Expert Says Weed Opponents Must Be High

Tax Payers Association President Michael Turnipseed said on “TRBS” Thursday that city officials will try and drive the county towards the city’s ban on marijuana. However, he added the county, which appears close to opting to regulate rather than ban, did a thorough EIR on the financial ramifications of regulating Cannabis, which becomes legal for recreational use this January. Turnipseed says the city is turning its back on millions of dollars that could go towards funding more police officers, parks and recreational needs and other municipal projects
