Man arrested in Oildale stabbing death

Kern County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the Aug. 19 stabbing death of a man in Oildale.

Deputies said Christopher Mangham was arrested on Monday in the 1000 block of El Tejon Ave. in Oildale. Mangham is suspected of stabbing Arnold Ford on Saturday in the 1100 block of Roberts Lane. Ford later died from his wounds at Kern Medical.

Deputies said Ford walked to the 300 block of Sanford Drive where he was located by deputies. Mangham had fled the area prior to deputies arriving. Based on their investigation, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Mangham for murder.

On Monday, metro patrol deputies located Mangham in the 1000 block of El Tejon Avenue in Oildale. He was arrested without incident and was booked into the Central Receiving Facility. His bail has been set at $500,000.
