Sheriff’s deputies warn of sexual assaults in McFarland, Delano

The Kern County Sheriff’s Department is investigating that three sexual assaults, including two in McFarland, may be related, and they’re looking for help from the public.

The latest assault came on Aug. 10 in a Delano vineyard, but deputies say two other assaults in McFarland may be connected. The first attack came on May 5, and on June 15 an elderly woman was struck by a car before being sexually assaulted by the man driving the car, which is described as a 2010-2011 Toyota Camry. In the Delano incident, the woman was attacked near Woollomes Avenue and Melcher Road., southwest of Delano. The suspect, in that case, fled in a vehicle described as a dark blue or black 2000’s Yukon or Tahoe, with large chrome rims.

If you have information on either of these vehicles you are asked to call Detective Barker at 661-391-7597, the Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110, or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
