Man’s body recovered in the Kern River

The Kern County Sheriff’s Department recovered the body of a man in the Kern River on Thursday night near Hart Park.

The man, who authorities identified as Bryan Lopez-Diaz, went missing while swimming in the Kern River at Hart Park on Sunday. His body was recovered just before 8 p.m. at Gordon’s Ferry on Alfred Harrell Highway. Authorities said the man’s body was pinned against debris in the middle of the river.
