First Look: Who makes a good Reuben sandwich in Bakersfield?

The off-microphone chattering was already well under way Tuesday between Scott Cox and Michael Hopper, who host “First Look with Scott Cox,” and it all centered around a sandwich.

The question was a simple one: where can one find a great Reuben sandwich in Bakersfield?

While Scott Cox said he was not a huge fan of the sauerkraut, corned beef, swiss on rye bread concoction, it became a central talking point among Hopper and producer Sean Ryan. It eventually led to calls and messages from listeners.

One caller, Dave, praised the work of Locale Farm To Table Eatery in downtown Bakersfield, while another praised the work of the Village Grill.

So, at the end of the day, who makes Bakersfield’s best Reuben Sandwich?
