Brush fire reveals dead body in Bakersfield field

The Kern County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a field after a grass fire at Cottonwood and Pacheco roads on July 2.

Deputies said the man has not been identified and they are still awaiting a report on the cause and manner of his death.
