Charity Farmers Market planned for Saturday at Outback Restaurant

Charity Farmers Market planned for Saturday at Outback Restaurant

If you’re in need of some great produce, the Young Ranchers and Farmers organization has a deal for you from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Bakersfield’s Outback Restaurant.

The group is hosting its third annual Charity Farmers Market in the parking lot of the Outback, 5051 Stockdale Highway. The event’s proceeds will help fund a new community garden at the Kern County Museum.

The group, which appeared on Friday’s episode of “The Scott Cox Show,” said they had more than 4,000 pounds of fresh produced donated last year, and they expect to have that much for this year’s event. Event organizers Aaron Flores and Lucas Espiercueta said that those who are attending can take as much as they want, but are also asked to donate plenty.
