Coroner identifies woman who died after car plunged into Lake Isabella

The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a 62-year-old woman from Lake Isabella who died Thursday when her car plunged into the lake.

Vicky Guiles was the woman whose car may have suffered mechanical failure before it went into Lake Isabella’s Kassick Cove. Kern County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue, with assistance from the Kern County Fire Department, assisted in the recovery of Guiles body. The coroner said Guiles was found unresponsive in the vehicle and was taken to Kern Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
