Sheriff deputies investigating Oildale homicide

Kern County Sheriff’s Department deputies are investigating a homicide in the 300 block of McCord Avenue in Oildale.

Investigators said the body was found in an empty lot and Ray Pruitt, the department’s public information officer, said the body was of an adult, but investigators had not determined the sex of the person. Pruitt said it appears the body has been there for several days, and there is no determination of how the person died.
