The National Weather Service is forecasting triple-digit heat to remain parked over Bakersfield and Kern County through Sunday, according to the Hanford-based station’s latest update.
An “Excessive Heat Warning” will remain in place through 11 p.m. on Thursday, when temperatures could hit a daytime high of 112 degrees. Sunday’s high of 105 for Bakersfield was just 1-degree off from the record set in 1945. High temperature records may be in danger of falling the rest of the week.
