Kern County Chief Administrative Officer Ryan Alsop is home.

A graduate of Highland High School and Cal State University Bakersfield, Alsop has spent more than 20 years in the world of public policy outside of Kern County, but now as Kern County’s top administrator he can finally work in his hometown.

Alsop has been on the job for about five months and on Monday he sat down to talk with Richard Beene to discuss his career, and the challenges of running a county.
