Deputies arrest man in Oildale for pointing gun at people

BAKERSFIED, Ca — The Kern County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 38-year-old man Sunday night  in Oildale after they said he pointed a gun at several people, including holding the gun to one person’s head.

Deputies said the incident happened at 11:18 pm in the 100 block of Warren Avenue in Oildale for a report of a person armed with a firearm. That person was identified as Jeffrey Vigue and when deputies arrived on scene they located Vigue standing near a residence. Vigue ran from deputies and after a short foot pursuit he was taken into custody without incident. Vigue was in possession of a loaded handgun when he was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Vigue was arrested for suspicion of attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, brandishing a weapon, obstructing a peace officer, false imprisonment, and making terrorist threats.

Vigue was booked into the Central Receiving Facility. His bail has been set at $655,000.
