Bakersfield Police make arrest in gas station robbery

After an outpouring of tips, Bakersfield Police were able to arrest two people in connection with a suspected May 5 armed robbery of a Ming Avenue gas station.

Police said they arrested Blaine Witt, 30, and Loren Haddock, 32, bot of Bakersfield. Officers conducted a search of a residence that was associated with both suspects, during which time methamphetamine was located in amounts that were consistent with narcotics sales.

Witt was arrested for robbery and narcotics sales, while Haddock was arrested for narcotics sales. Both were booked into the Kern County Jail.

Police said Witt walked into the Shell Station and brandished a firearm and demanded money. The pair fled in a late-model Toyota Camry.
