Michael Hopper attempts to explain ending of new Star Wars trailer

Michael Hopper, one of the hosts on “First Look with Scott Cox” and resident kernradio.com nerd, spent some time this morning contemplating the ending to the new trailer for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which debuted Friday morning.

The trailer pretty much picks up where “Stars Wars: The Force Awakens” left off: actress Daisy Ridley’s Rey meeting Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill. From there the trailer takes off with scenes of Rey’s suspected Jedi training, some of our characters from the previous movie and some epic battles. However, at the end you can hear Luke saying: “I only know one truth, it’s time for the Jedi to end.”

Hopper’s reaction?

“I don’t know what to make of that,” Hopper said.

His overall take on the trailer?

“Not bad,” he said. “Not bad and it looks like it’s going to be a dark movie. And we all know “Star Wars” is at its best when its dark.”
