Kern County Sheriff investigates rash of Wofford Heights burglaries

Over the past three to four weeks, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office has investigated several reports of burglaries and vandalisms of several residences in the Wofford Heights area.

Based on information developed during these investigations and evidence collected, it is believed the suspects are juveniles.  It is also believed the suspects have returned and vandalized two of the residences after the suspects learned the homeowners have law enforcement ties.

One of the vandalisms involved the suspects starting a fire at a residence.  Recently, the movie theater in Wofford Heights was vandalized.  Based on the evidence, it appears the damage was caused by a high powered BB gun; however, the investigation is still active.

As a result of these investigations, there is reason to believe all of these crimes are related and were committed by the same suspects.  We are asking for information from the public regarding these crimes.  If anyone has information regarding these crimes, call the Sheriff’s Office Kern Valley Substation at (760)549-2100 or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
