BC men’s basketball looks for some payback in playoffs

After winning the Western State Conference South championship, Bakersfield College’s men’s basketball team gets to hit the road to face Chaffey College in Ontario for the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs.

BC coach Rich Hughes’ team (20-9 overall) faces a long road trip and a tall order against the host Panthers. The Renegades lost to Chaffey 78-64 on Nov. 12. If the Renegades should win, they could face No. 1-seeded Fullerton, which beat the Renegades Dec. 2, 62-60.

“We’re calling it the revenge tour,” said Hughes, who was a guest on Greg Kerr’s weekday show on ESPN Bakersfield.

The Renegades play at Chaffey at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
