Listener Rob accused me wrongly of waffling after I announced I could not and would not support Donald J. Trump for president. Changing one’s mind is a demonstration of strength and security. Secure enough in my ideals and character to realize when I’m wrong and simply about face. But now that I’m changing again, under the severe pressure of my audience .. THAT’S WAFFLING! The only solace I receive comes from the clear, overwhelming consensus that this is the single most whackado election in our 240 year history. Both sides rooting on their respective candidates deep down DON’T really like them. Both candidates have character issues so large it’s a wonder they won their party’s nomination. So if I’m one mixed up radio host can you really hold that against me. Meantime, you all remain passionate one way or the other. Patrick poo-poohs the idea that NOT voting for Trump is a vote for Hillary and says four years of The Donald would have far reaching ramifications., “I know that Donald Trump isn’t worthy of your vote and he doesn’t reflect your principles. Trumpism would not only be detrimental to the country, it would be detrimental to Conservatism and the Republican Party.” Nah. “Trumpism”, as Patrick calls it, is not organized enough and Donald doesn’t have a clear enough message to form a new direction in the Party. But as a host who, as Listener Maria said, has influenced folks to support Trump, it is my responsible to see the fight to the end. I didn’t have to pick him but I did. Now let’s see what happens when we all wake up. And by the by, when we do, I’m having chicken and waffles!
