There is nothing man fears more than the unknown. Long standing clichés bare me out, something about better the enemy you know. And no one strikes the fear of God in the so called “Establishment” of the Republican Party than Donald Trump. Supporting Trump seems to be a commitment to another Republican Party. Surely if “The Donald” pulls off this unlikely sprint for the White House the nucleus of the GOP must change by sheer definition, for Trump overnight becomes that nucleus. His arrival in Washington in mid January of 2017 would mean a long walk off the proverbial short pier for senators like Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, all folk who’d loved to be considered for a number of cabinet positions or even an invite as an Ambassador somewhere. But none of these appear likely, unless you’re Chris Christie or radio talk show host Michael Savage. Meantime, we all know nations turn slower than old aircraft carriers so Donald’s impact on our day to day lives may not be immediately felt., However, his position as the head of the GOP will alter the make up of at least those in high offices wielding power within the party. In other words those who rode in on the coattails of President Donald John Trump shall lead them. Who’d a thunk it!?
