TED 2 is the latest comedy from “Family Guy” creator Seth McFarlane who wrote and directed. Starring Mark Wahlberg , Seth McFarlane, Amanda Seyfried , and Jessica Barth.
Ted (voiced by McFarlane) has finally married his love interest from the last installment, Tami-Lynn (Barth). But as their marriage begins to sour, the idea of a baby might be the answer to renew their relationship. An idea not as easy as it seems. During the adoption process it is determined that Ted is not human, so therefore not privileged with human rights. Recent Supreme court rulings and metaphors anyone? Ted sets out to prove he’s a person in the eyes of the law with the help of his life-long friend, John (Wahlberg) and cool-chic lawyer, Samantha (Seyfried).
Everyone else has said this, but I’ll repeat it anyway: if you loved the original TED, you’ll love this film. Plenty of crude humor, and more cameos and pop-culture references than you can count.
I loved this movie. It ain’t great cinema, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s fun and funny and a wonderful time. Sit in the dark, chew popcorn, and laugh… a LOT!
Movie Grade: “A”
