INSIDE OUT is the new masterpiece from Pixar

I’ll start this off by predicting that INSIDE OUT, the new Pixar film, will win Best Animated Film at the Oscars next February. No question. The sad part? It should be in the Best Picture category with a great shot at winning. It’s that good.

An all star comedy cast, a wonderful sound track, great animation, and an inspired/funny/touching/heartbreaking script combine to tell the story of what’s going on inside the mind of 11 year old Riley as she suffers some life changes. It’s the kind of pure magic that Pixar makes. But they put a particularly fine sheen on this one that will resonate for generations as kids grow up and begin to understand why mom and dad were laughing out loud at some moments, then wiping tears from their cheeks the next.

Two extra pieces of treasure should you go see this: first, don’t leave till you’ve seen the mid-credits scene that gives you an “inside” look at the minds of some of the supporting characters. Second, don’t be late and miss the short film “LAVA”. It will be the emotional appetizer for the meal to come.

A+ for what may be my favorite film of the year so far.
