Police seek assistance finding Bakersfield robbery suspect

The Bakersfield Police Department is searching for a man who broke into a southwest Bakersfield home and pointed a gun at the homeowner before fleeing the home and driving off in a BMW.

Police said the incident happened Sunday morning in the 4200 block of Thatch Avenue. The 9:56 a.m. burglary happened while the homeowner was asleep, but the victim was soon awake and confronted the man, who police describe as white, 25-30 years old, 5-feet-8, 150 pounds and possibly bald.

Bakersfield Police say this BMW may have been used in a southwest Bakersfield robbery.

After the confrontation, police said the suspect fled the scene in an early 2000 model BMW four-door sedan, and was followed by an unknown woman, who police said was acting as a lookout, in a 2000-2006 white GMC pickup truck.

Police said the suspect may have also been wearing a black baseball hat, sunglasses, a red button down shirt, armed with a small silver or black semi-automatic firearm.

The female suspect was seen driving a 2000-2006 GMC pickup, white in color. Anyone with information regarding this investigation, or the identity of the suspect is asked to call Detective Chris Feola (661) 326-3513, or the Bakersfield Police Department (661) 327-711.
