Sheriff uncovers chop shop in Bakersfield

The Kern County Sheriff’s Department discovered a supsected chop shop operation in southeast Bakersfield Wednesday.

Deputies were callsed to the 4200 block of Cottonwood Road to investigate a stolen big-rig truck.  During the investigation, deputies said they discovered another three stolen vehicles, including one equipped with a welder.  Other vehicles were also located on the property during the investigation and are being researched to determine if they too are also stolen vehicles.  The California Highway Patrol’s Kern County Auto Theft Task Force responded to assist the Sheriff’s Office with the possible “Chop Shop” investigation.
