With Richard Beene taking the day off, Bakersfield City Councilman Andrae Gonzales filled in as host of “The Richard Beene Show,” and featured an interview with local developer Robert Austin Smith.
It was Smith who helped lead the effort for the 17th Place Townhomes in downtown Bakersfield, and much of the conversation focused on Smith’s efforts in downtown.
“There really hasn’t been a project of this caliber downtown,” said Gonzales, whose Ward 2 encompasses downtown.
