The Bakersfield Police Department arrested a 21-year-old Bakersfield man early Sunday morning after he fled officers and threw away a loaded handgun.
Police said they stopped to talk with Kevin Allen at 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of east California Avenue, but that he ran away from them and discarded a loaded gun. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit, and was arrested on suspicion of firearms possession and being involved in a gang activities.
