Time to start seizing some oil

Remember when we were told that Iraqi oil would cover our expenses from the Iraq war? Didn’t happen. Now Donald Trump is saying that we should blow up the oilfields producing all that cash. Also not going to happen. The only time any of that oil was destroyed is when Saddam lit it up as his forces retreated. It is being used for wars, however in fact it’s the main source of income for Isis. About 2 million in cash per day. Isis needs a lot of cash to operate, and their only other source of cash is ransoming kidnap victims. And that business is tapering off. But they continue to steal oil and sell it to black marketeers in Turkey. Even the Kurds have gotten a piece of the action. And for all their zealotry, nothing would cripple Isis as fast as cutting off their income supply. So why don’t we just talk the Turks and Kurds into ending the oil sales? Mostly because these sales aren’t officially govenment sanctioned, even though a lot of very important people are getting very, very rich. So I propose we go a step beyond what the Donald is suggesting and just take all that oil. The biggest oil pipeline in the world runs right under Turkey, and ends up at the coast where it gets shipped out to the highest bidder. Suppose we take over the entire port and load that oil onto U.S.-owned tanker ships and sail right off with it right under Isis’ noses? It’s not like we don’t have the firepower to pull it off. And yes, Isis would be super pissed- but before long they’d also be super broke. And how could the countries involved complain? We would only be taking oil that was already stolen by Isis. Sure, it would cost big bucks for people in the black market, but who cares? Besides- we tell everybody that when Isis is destroyed, we stop taking the oil. I think a whole lot of powerful people would turn on Isis pretty quickly when it started costing them money. The icing on the cake would be all the terrorists who get killed trying to stop us.
