Trump’s slash-and-burn politics

Look- I still don’t think Donald Trump will get (or even wants) the GOP nomination. But he may well have painted the party into a corner early on in the race. Not because he’s polling so well, but because of the irreparable harm he’s done to the other candidates. Witness former frontrunners like Bush and Walker as they run and hide from Trump and his attacks. It makes you wonder how they’re going to sit across the negotiating table with guys like Putin when the chips are down. And people are noticing. Voters can smell fear, and they don’t like it. So even if the Donald drops out at some point, he may well have knocked out a couple of his peers. Time will tell.
