Brett Reckamp joined AGM-California in April of 2010 as the KERN Program Director and quickly began shaping Kern Radio into “Bakersfield’s Right Choice” for local news, breaking news and national news, with the best local and national radio talk show line-up in Kern County. He was named Director of AM Programming in March 2011 and is currently overseeing all programming aspects of KERN, KGEO & KERI.  
 
Brett comes to Bakersfield from News Talk 670 KBOI in Boise, Idaho where he sharpened his N/T and sports programming skills as a producer, reporter, anchor, talk host and station imaging director. He covered Boise State Bronco Football and athletics extensively throughout the 2000’s as a show co-host, analyst and producer. In 2002, Brett co-founded “Tee Time”, a seasonal Saturday golf show in which he served as the host or co-host and producer for 8 years; 6 of those on 1350 KTIK. He helped launch KBOI’s very successful local afternoon drive talk show “Nate Shelman” in January of 2007, and was the Executive Producer before moving on to become the KERN PD. Brett has done work for AP Sports, Fox Sports and CBS and ABC Radio News, and also has worked for 620 KGW in Portland, Oregon and 1190 KLIF in Dallas, Texas.
 
Reckamp has won a total of 7 Idaho State Broadcasting Awards (ISBA’s) for news, sports and production. He was the winner’s circle announcer for Boise’s Les Bois Park in 2001 and has emceed a number of notable Boise area concerts and functions.
 
An ’86 L.D. Bell High grad, Brett attended Tarrant County Junior College then graduated from Columbia School of Broadcasting in Dallas in 1989. Reckamp is a news hound and fantasy football geek who loves to golf in the summer and ski in the winter with his girlfriend Debbie, the mother of his pride and joy: 4-year-old Keenan Ryan.
