Rest in Peace, Papa Nick

We lost a very good man this weekend in Nick Uricchio, founder/owner of Uricchios Tratorria Italian restaurant. Nick, like yours truly, came here in the early 1990s and with his daughter, Claire, son Steve and loyal Chef Raphael Hernandez kicked off one of the most successful Italian eateries in town. “Papa Nick” to family and friends, he brought a sense of class, style and professional decorum not often seen here in the 90s. Uricchios has and will always be a special place for me. And if you’ve never made it downtown to 17th and K, do yourself a favor and visit Papa Nick’s long lasting legacy (Try the Clam Chowder and the Chicken Piccatta, best in Kern County!).
Hard to believe but we’ll be celebrating our one year anniversary in the first week in March! To help ring in my 15th year in radio, we have an awesome promotion involving you all, our sponsors and a Lakers game live from a Staples Center Suite! We’ll be taking a winner and three of your closest friends! Keep it locked on Newstalk 11-80 KERN for further details on how to register to become eligible to ride to Staples with me and JR!!!!!!!!!
And don’t forget about our golfing promotion: “Win a Round with Ralph”. A listener and a friend receive a round of golf with with me at a golf course to be name later AND a round for two at said golf course before we play as a tune up! Again, stay tuned for further details. See you on the radio!!!!! RB
